FRAMEWORK.!

yo peeps, im bored, so i decided to do sth up on frames.
if there're any errors, please correct me !~
frames are very important cus it give you an advantage.
a very big one. be mindful about it !

general terms about frames :

1)frame: tekken runs at 60 frames per second. meaning a normal '1' jab, which is ten frames, will be executed in 1/6 second ! cool o_O !

2)safe/unsafe: whether a move is safe or unsafe after opp blocks it. if a move hits, its always safe. no worries o_O

3)punish: occurs when you get ur frames right and deal damage when an opp performs an unsafe move.

-------------------------------------------------

there are two kinds of frames. one kind is positive (+) and one kind is negative (-).
positive frames give you advantage and negative gives you otherwise.

-frames mean you cant do anything (not evern block T.T) for that amount of time. lets say you are on -10 frames, meaning u cant do anything for 1/6 second.

+10 frames means u have an advantage of 1/6 second when your opponent cant do anything!
if your opp is on -10 frames, and you are on neutral frames which is zero, therefore you still have that same 1/6 second advantage as if u were on +10 frame.

-If frames confuse you, its actually just another form of measuring time, where 1 frame is 1/60 second. (:

generally, the lowest frame moves that people normally use are '1' or '2' jabs, which are 10 frames.
there are some +8 frame moves , but i'll not touch them.

-------------------------------------------------

every move will have 3 kinds of characteristics:
-on hit (that guy ate ur move)
-on counter hit (CH) (u and opp both do a move, but urs hit 1st)
-on block (that guy din eat ur move)

-------------------------------------------------

okay i shall now give an exmaple of a fight between two heihachi-s
since its my fav character. LOL. labeling them as hei1 and hei2

EG.

after the 'fight' label appears on screen,

hei1 does a ten frame move while hei2 does an 11 frame move.
you know the answer already. hei1's move will hit first.

remember that moves have 3 characteristics?
yes, this one is on CH. becus both hei1 and hei2 perform a move at the same time,
but hei1's move hits first due to LESS FRAME COUNT.

every move on CH and on hit, will give +frames. therefore you have that amount of advantage depending on how much +frames the move grants.

for hei1's counter hit, he gets +7 frames. so he has that amount of frame advantage.

now hei2(who hasnt a clue about frames) gets really mad and spat 'why the f did his move hit 1st. we press at the same time!!!' so he tried to hit back(unknowingly) with a 10 frame move. hei1 also decided to use the same 10 frame move.

so they are on equal par right? technically if u reset the clock , yes.
BUT. hei1 has a +7 frame advantage. meaning hei2 is immobile for that amount of time !
when hei2 executes his 10 frame move, the equation will be :

delayed frames + original frames = total frames required for execution

so hei2's move will coem out as 7+10 = 17 frames. thats sucky, becus hei1's 10 frame move will still come out as 10 frames. therefore, hei1 gets another hit. and if this continues. hei1 will own a perfect .

this is how pitbullers do well. its not just throwing a bunch of moves. they know their frames. (:

general frame stuff everyone shd noe :

hopkicks and most launchers except ewgf , on block will grant them a -fram disadvantage of
12~14 frames. Most is thirteen except mig's which is 14. therefore. THEREFORE.

PLEASE. PLEASE. punish them back with an NC combo starting with 1, becus it will make that whole string 10frames. DONT. DONT. try to hit back with your own hopkick or launcher becus it will NEVER work. UNLESS:

its -14 launcher and u do ewgf or other launchers that are 14 frames.

thats it. otherwise if not sure please punish with jabs. zzz.

if not, you just missed the chance of dealing minor damage that can lead to momentum and more damage after that. that chance will never come back if your opp doesnt do something stupid.

I KNOW. ur going to squeal ' but for non mishimas, 12 does nub dmg . how?!?!?!?! '

ANS: please, remember i said that moves on hit ALWAYS give +frame advantage. From there,
use the frame advantage you have to do more moves. if after ur nub dmg 12, you have +5 frame advantage, you can gamble do a launcher with 13 frames. if opp doesnt noe frames well and tries to hit back with a 10 frame move, his move will come out in 10+5=15 frames(becus ur on +5), while urs will come out in 13-5=8 frames (BECUS UR ON +5 also).

does this show why frames ARE important?

------------------------------------------------

another case is when a move on block gives 0 frames.
eg hei1 does a move and hei2 blocks it. hei1 on block, its 0 frames.
meaning the 'frame clock' is resetted. next, if both of them do a 10 frame move,
this thing called 'trading hits' will occur. when both or you hit each other and push back and the same time. this is how 'double k.o' happens. but it rarely does happen tho o_O

GENERIC frames :

hopkicks/launchers : -12 to -14 on block (alr mentioned abv)
df1 for MOST : 13 frame execution, -1 on block. look out for anna's which is 0. T.T
normal jabs like '1' or '2' : 10 execute, +1 on block.
for mishimas 112: 10 frame execute, but if you block the 2, pls, launch back with hopkick or other launchers. dont ask why. just do it. LOL.

okay, i've tried my best to explain what frames are all about. hope u guys understand. correct me if any errors !

WENYEW ~
